3 Days After Juvelook and the Results Are Gone?
Surprised by what you saw in the mirror the day after your Juvelook procedure? About 75% of that plump volume is actually swelling. It fades within 3–7 days — and what remains is the real thing.

3 Days After Juvelook —
Did the Results Already Disappear?
Check This Before You Panic
Q. The plump volume I had the day after the procedure
completely deflated within a week.
Has the effect already worn off?
A. It hasn't worn off — the swelling has simply subsided.
About 75% of the immediate post-procedure volume is swelling. The remaining 25% is where real Collagen production begins.
Q. Why does the swelling last so long?
A. It's a natural inflammatory response triggered by Juvelook's active ingredients interacting with the tissue.
As the particles are introduced into the Dermis, a mild inflammatory reaction occurs — and this is actually an important signal that stimulates Collagen synthesis.

Before We Talk About Swelling,
Here's One Thing You Should Know About Juvelook
Juvelook is a Skin booster that delivers PDLLA (poly-D,L-lactic acid) microparticles into the Dermis to stimulate Collagen production.
It belongs to the same family as Sculptra (PLLA), but its particle structure differs — which means the swelling pattern is also somewhat different.

Why Does Swelling Fade in 3 Days for Some
and a Full Week for Others?
Right after a Juvelook procedure,
about 75% of that plump volume is Swelling.
The subtle volume that remains after it subsides over 3–7 days
is where real Collagen production begins.
Many patients misread this as the effect disappearing —
but that's a common misunderstanding.

The swelling from Juvelook works on a similar principle to muscle soreness after exercise.
Just as micro-stress on muscle fibers leads to recovery and firmness, when the particles enter the Dermis, the surrounding tissue responds by drawing in moisture.
So if you look in the mirror right after the procedure and think, "Wow, the volume really came in nicely" — that's mostly Swelling.
It is completely normal for that swelling to deflate significantly between days 3 and 7.
The subtle 25% of volume that remains is your real starting point — and from there, Collagen continues to build steadily at the 4-week, 8-week, and 12-week marks.
Because Juvelook's particles are smoother than Sculptra's, the initial Swelling tends to be more noticeable — but the risk of nodule formation is comparatively lower, which is one of its key advantages.

Here's How Swelling Typically Resolves
Depending on Your Profile
A 33-year-old patient who visited last week urgently reached out on day 4, saying "all the volume is gone."
But this was simply a sign that the swelling was subsiding at a normal pace — nothing more.
On the other hand, a 42-year-old patient came in three weeks before her wedding. Rather than proceeding with Juvelook, I recommended an alternative Skin booster instead.
The reason: peak swelling could coincide with her wedding day, and Collagen needs at least 8 weeks to build up meaningfully.
Timeframe | Swelling Pattern | Care Tips |
Day of procedure – Day 2 | Volume at its peak, slightly firm to the touch | Apply cold compresses; avoid touching or pressing the treated area |
Days 3–7 | Swelling decreases rapidly (deflated appearance) | Normal response; light massage is acceptable |
Weeks 2–4 | Plateau phase — minimal visible change | Be patient; this is a normal part of the process |
Weeks 4–12 | Collagen builds gradually, natural volume emerges | Assess results and plan follow-up sessions if needed |
Juvelook is typically recommended in a series of 3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart.
Getting sessions too frequently — before the particles have had time to integrate — can cause them to cluster and form nodules. Maintaining the appropriate interval is essential.
The 3 Questions
My Patients Ask Most Often
Q1. Why does swelling resolve
so differently from person to person?
There are many variables at play — individual constitution, lymphatic circulation, and even sleeping position.
For the first 3 days after the procedure, try to sleep on your back. Avoiding strenuous exercise and sauna for about a week will also help the Swelling resolve more quickly.
Q2. How many sessions are needed,
and what does it cost?
A single session is unlikely to deliver dramatic results on its own.
Three sessions spaced 4–6 weeks apart is the standard recommended course. More important than cost, however, is choosing a practitioner with the skill to deliver at precisely the right depth.
Q3. Are there any side effects beyond swelling — like nodules?
Nodules can form if the injection depth is too shallow or if the product is concentrated in one area.
Evenly distributing the particles across the mid-Dermis is the key technical skill involved. If you still feel firm lumps two to three weeks after the procedure, it's important to have them evaluated promptly.
If there's one takeaway from today —
don't judge the results by how plump you look immediately after the procedure.
The real transformation begins in the volume that remains after the Swelling has settled.

how the same patient's results change over the course of treatment.'
