Thermage effect, how long does it last, is 300 shots enough?

Are you just going to keep pulling?

Hello.

This is Director Wi Young-jin.

If I had to choose just one of the most sought-after treatments during tightening or radiofrequency lifting procedures,

I would not hesitate to choose

Thermage.

Those of you reading this might

be looking up the effects of Thermage.

What many are particularly curious about are

these aspects.

✔ Is there really a change?
✔ When will the effects start to show?
✔ How long does the Thermage effect last?

While many seek it expecting only lifting,

Thermage is a device that provides more than that.

Are you just going to keep pulling?

The reason for changes in skin texture, density, and feel

One of the most common misconceptions among those who are new to this is

thinking that this treatment is merely a device that pulls the skin.

Of course, it is categorized as a radiofrequency lifting device,

but its mechanism goes beyond simple lifting.

The radiofrequency thermal energy reaches the deep dermal layers of the skin

to contract collagen fibers and induce the generation of new collagen.

The reason it doesn’t just feel tight on the surface but also has a deep effect is right here.

Could it be a lifting machine?

Wrinkles form on the skin,

and loss of elasticity is simple.

Because collagen and elastin in the dermal layer of the skin decrease.

Thermage is a treatment that replenishes this supportive structure.

It delivers radiofrequency energy deep into the skin

to provide thermal stimulation to the dermal layer,

and this stimulation promotes collagen generation.

In order to truly lift sagging skin,

the energy must reach deeper than the dermal layer, to the subcutaneous fat layer or

the superficial musculoaponeurotic system (SMAS).

At this time, instant coagulation at temperatures above 65 degrees occurs, causing tissue to contract,

which is the territory of HIFU procedures like Ultherapy.

On the other hand, Thermage regenerates collagen in the dermal layer and

organizes the skin more tightly.

So when discussing the effects of Thermage,

the term tightening is more appropriate than lifting.

Understanding the difference in the purpose of treatment accurately allows beginners

to make a suitable choice for themselves.

Is 300 shots enough?

“Is 300 shots enough?”

is a question I often hear.

But what’s more important than just the number is

where and how the injections are done.

I often compare the number of shots to sewing.

The denser the stitching, the more robust the fabric becomes,

and the degree to which the energy is uniformly injected affects the skin's density and elasticity changes.

In fact, 300 shots are close to the minimum dose.

This is because for collagen generation to truly begin,

radiofrequency must gradually raise the skin temperature to 40~42 degrees,

and the initial number of shots corresponds to a kind of preheating stage.

In other words, the shots that actually work effectively can be around 150~200 shots.

So usually

👉 high-dose treatments of 600 shots or more

allow for a safer and ample overlapping design.

Especially in areas like the cheeks, jawline, and around the nasolabial folds where elasticity tends to easily diminish,

energy needs to be overlapped again for higher satisfaction results.

I consider not just the number of shots, but also individualized overlapping by area to be important.

When will my skin change?

Thermage is characterized by gradual rather than immediate changes.

Some people feel that their skin is slightly tightened right after the procedure,

but this is a temporary contraction response due to radiofrequency heat.

✨Real changes begin after collagen starts to be generated.

Everyone's collagen regeneration speed is different,

but generally, actual changes start to be felt around 1 month.

Collagen generation lasts for about 6 months post-treatment,

and accordingly, the effects last on average for about 6 months to 1 year.

Thermage is a treatment that provides relatively long-lasting results, which many find satisfying.

However, because the duration of maintenance can vary depending on an individual’s skin condition and lifestyle habits,

it is advisable to consider a periodic maintenance plan for prolonged effects.

Key Summary

✅Thermage is a tightening procedure, not a lifting one.
✅600-900 shots or more is stable rather than 300 shots.
✅Changes begin after 1 month → maintain for 6 months to 1 year.

Through accurate diagnosis and consultation,

I hope you can experience the effects of Thermage.

The effects of Thermage are focused on

restoring the overall health of the skin rather than just simple lifting.

The duration of the Thermage effect is also one of the key points that influence treatment satisfaction.

Thank you for reading.
