Not a square jaw but a salivary gland? The principle and effect of reducing volume by 30% in just one session.

What on earth are salivary glands? The reason everyone does not know makes the face shape larger.

Hello, I'm Kim Ga-eul.

Today, I wonder if there are people who are curious if it's real with all this saliva.

Salivary Gland Botox. Does it make your face smaller?

I came to explain about salivary glands.

There was a fun thing when I was in medical school.

One of my close female classmates

came with a round face like the one in the picture above.

It turned out she had Mumps.

(When we were young, there's a vaccine for MMR that prevents mumps and measles.)

Anyway,

when you get mumps, it causes sialadenitis, which makes the salivary glands swell.

More than anything,

let's focus on sialadenitis

There are

귀밑샘-비대증

three types.

침샘보톡스-세가지침샘

1. Parotid gland

2. Submandibular gland

3. Sublingual gland (you don't need to worry about this one)

You can just ignore the sublingual gland.

These two glands, the parotid and submandibular glands, can (if enlarged)

hurt the contours of the face (just like in the picture above!)

The reason they swell is,,

  1. You can just think of it as muscle..

Men with big muscles have big salivary glands too.

  2. Eating hard foods makes them swell.. It’s strange but it swells (because saliva production increases)

Ultimately, you need to reduce them

There are two methods to reduce them.

Simple 1. Botox

Not simple, but permanent 2. Surgical removal

침샘보톡스
  1. Botox

Since salivary glands are similar to muscles, they shrink with Botox treatment.

They become inactive and thus shrink.

With a single treatment, you can see about a 30% reduction in volume.

  1. Surgical removal (Parotidectomy)

The surgery is said to be somewhat complicated, but it is a permanent removal.

The decrease in salivary glands is about 30%.

If one treatment leads to a 30% volume reduction,

it is a very effective treatment.

The enlargement of the parotid gland is,

perceived to be related to age,

so if your parotid gland is enlarged, please check it carefully.

Lying down makes it easier to see, haha.
