Everything about Radius

What on earth is radius? Side effects and effects.

Hello. I am Chief Director Kim Ga-eul.

Today, we will learn about Radius.

First of all, Radius is a product from MERZ. [MERZ-Ultherapy company.]

Table of Contents

What is Radius? Where and how can it be used? Are there any side effects after using it?

Radius is a product that has been approved by the FDA in the United States for quite a long time.

It is a volume restoration material approved in 2006.

In the past, it was used for the volume of the nose and chin.

CaHA (Calcium Hydroxylapatite)

is a calcium-based precipitate that resembles a substance found in our cartilage.

When you see the product, it appears white. The aforementioned substance stimulates the synthesis of new collagen in our bodies, and when injected deeply at a high concentration, it will create clusters of collagen in one area.

> If used on the nose, it will make the nose higher, right?

Should I use a filler or Radius?

Product Radius Hyaluronic Acid Filler Ingredient CaHA Hyaluronic Acid Recommended Areas

Vertical neck lines, wrinkles around the mouth, back of the hands, + Volume

Volume and horizontal neck lines Duration 2 years 60% disappears after 1 year Effect Volume and elasticity improvement Volume improvement Radius provides elasticity (and a bit of volume) Hyaluronic acid fills in the volume.

So where can it be used??

The role of Radius is primarily about elasticity and volume.

1) Chin and Nose - without dilution or diluted at a 1:1 ratio

This is a method for volume!!!

A method used without dilution or with minimal dilution on the chin or nose… this is number one.

If too much dilution is used, and collagen is created over the wrinkle lines,

the wrinkles will disappear, and the skin will gain elasticity.

The procedure can be done by injection or using a cannula.

In the above photo, you can see significant improvement in the nasolabial folds after 8 weeks of procedure.

2) Back of hands, around the mouth (Effect of collagen) - 1:2 dilution is recommended.

This is number two for improving fine wrinkles and skin texture.

It's about elasticity

It can be used on the back of the hands, and also for neck wrinkles

When used on the back of the hands, it helps to make the blood vessels less visible, and provides elasticity,

while it is used to enhance elasticity for neck wrinkles.

What are the side effects?

First, we need to understand the ingredients in more detail.

The main ingredient is CaHA (hydroxylapatite).

It is a component that also exists in our bones and teeth,

is stable in body reactions, and is relatively safe. So what are the side effects? It’s mainly nodules. The most common reason for nodules to occur is as follows. When Radius is concentrated in one area,.

(There are various reasons including procedural techniques, hydration, etc.)

Summary of Today's Key Points

1. Promotes collagen and elastin production → Strengthens skin elasticity

 2. Overall improvement in moisture, skin texture, and tone

 3. Low but existing possibility of nodules Control of dilution concentration, even injection, The hydration process must be safe. Recommended Beauty Column Outline & Volume

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. What is Radius (CaHA) used for?

Radius is a CaHA (calcium hydroxylapatite) volume restoration product from MERZ, FDA-approved since 2006. It's primarily used for elasticity and volume — think vertical neck lines, wrinkles around the mouth, the back of the hands, and areas like the nose or chin.

Q2. How long do Radius results last?

Radius is generally described as lasting around 2 years, which is longer than typical hyaluronic acid fillers, where roughly 60% disappears after a year. Individual duration can still vary based on the area treated and your own body.

Q3. What's the difference between Radius and a hyaluronic acid filler?

Radius uses CaHA, which stimulates new collagen synthesis and improves both volume and elasticity, while a hyaluronic acid filler mainly fills in volume directly. Radius tends to be used for areas like vertical neck lines, while HA filler is more associated with volume and horizontal neck lines.

Q4. Where on the face or body can Radius be used?

It's commonly used on the chin and nose for volume, typically undiluted or minimally diluted, and on the back of the hands or around the mouth at a more diluted ratio to improve fine wrinkles and skin texture. The dilution and technique change depending on whether the goal is pure volume or elasticity and texture.
