Skin Botox Results: What I Observed Over 38 Minutes of Procedures Last Month
The idea that frequent Skin Botox freezes your expressions? It's actually the opposite. Here's why we follow only the outer jawline — and a timeline of changes by session.

Skin Botox Results:
What I Observed Over 38 Minutes
of Procedures Last Month
Last Tuesday, a patient came into my clinic —
a woman in her early 30s, working a desk job.
She asked me, "I've heard that getting Skin Botox
too often freezes your expressions —
is that actually true?"
She had already had the procedure done once at another clinic,
was happy with the results,
but kept getting spooked by people around her
and wasn't sure whether to continue.
Skin Botox Results —
They All Look the Same, Right?
Well, Not Quite
Skin Botox uses toxin that is diluted
far more than standard Botox,
and is placed in multiple shallow injection points
close to the dermal layer of the skin.
Unlike regular Botox, which deeply relaxes muscles
to smooth out wrinkles,
Skin Botox only gently releases
the micro-tension just beneath the dermis.
So even though the same product is used,
the results are entirely different.
Does Frequent Skin Botox Freeze Expressions?
The Mechanism Says Otherwise
"Skin Botox doesn't pull like Filler —
it works by releasing the baseline muscle tone,
which is what gives the skin a smoother appearance.
Because it's placed only along the outer jawline,
your expressions remain fully intact."
— Dr. Wi Young-jin (Beautystone Clinic, Seoul)
You've probably heard the claim
that frequent Skin Botox will freeze your face.
In reality, the outcome depends entirely
on where and how it's placed —
and the results can go in the complete opposite direction.
Even when your face is at rest,
your facial muscles are never fully relaxed.
There's always a subtle tension present —
what we call the "baseline tone."
This tension pulls the skin inward,
causing Pores to stretch and the surface to look uneven.
Skin Botox is designed to gently release
only that baseline tone.
By placing it shallowly along the outer jawline and below the cheekbones,
the larger muscles responsible for expression are left completely untouched.
So when you smile, your expressions look exactly the same —
it's only when your face is at rest that the skin appears noticeably smoother.
If stiffness does occur as a side effect,
that's a placement issue — not a problem with the procedure itself.
Changes by Session and How Long Results Last
During the first week,
many patients notice very little change.
By weeks two to three, you might catch yourself
thinking, "My Skin Texture looks a bit more refined."
The more noticeable reduction in Pores and a smoother jawline
typically become visible from weeks four to six.
Results generally last around three to four months.
Product Type and Dosage —
Where Do the Results Actually Differ?
The most commonly used products in Korea include Xeomin and Botox,
each with its own characteristics.
Xeomin, in particular, carries a lower risk of resistance buildup,
making it a great option for patients who receive the procedure regularly.
One patient in her early 30s came to me after having the product
concentrated too heavily in one area at another clinic.
We redistributed 50 units in fine, spread-out points
following the outer contour of her face.
When she returned four weeks later, she told me,
"This time there's no stiffness — my skin just looks smooth," and she was thrilled.
With Skin Botox, patience is key —
it's a procedure where time does the work, not immediacy.
Frequently Asked Questions (Q&A)
Q1. Once I start, do I have to keep getting it forever?
When the effects wear off, your skin simply returns to where it was —
it doesn't get worse than before.
Most patients come back when the smoothness fades
and they notice their skin feeling rough again.
Q2. How often should I come in to maintain results?
For the first year, I recommend intervals of three to four months.
Once the baseline tone stabilizes after several sessions,
many patients find that every five to six months is sufficient from year two onward.
Q3. How long do Bruising or any stiffness last after the procedure?
Because it involves multiple shallow injections,
minor needle marks or Bruising may last around five to seven days.
Any stiffness in expression comes down to placement,
and it will naturally resolve on its own over time.
One thing to take away from today:
Skin Botox is not about stopping your expressions.
It's a procedure that gently releases the resting tension
along the outer contour of your face — nothing more.
In my next post, I'll walk you through a real comparison of Xeomin vs. domestic toxin products
with actual case examples.
