Skin Booster Results: A Session-by-Session Timeline & Why Results Vary
The effects of a Skin booster procedure come from stimulating the Dermis and fat layer to produce Collagen. Here's a breakdown of the session-by-session timeline and why results can differ from person to person.

Skin Booster Results:
A Session-by-Session Timeline & Why Results Vary
There's one question I hear from nearly twenty patients a week in my clinic.
"When I get a Skin booster, does it fill my skin with Collagen?"
There's actually a significant misconception packed into that one sentence. Let me walk you through it from the beginning.
Many People Confuse Skin Boosters with Filler —
Here's the Difference
A Skin booster procedure involves delivering active ingredients in a fine, diffuse layer into the Dermis.
Unlike Filler, it's not designed to add volume.
Filler is injected in concentrated deposits to sculpt and define shape, while a Skin booster is distributed broadly across the skin to refine its overall texture.
Why Do Some Patients See Results
While Others Don't?
"A Skin booster doesn't directly 'implant' Collagen into your skin.
It's a stimulatory procedure — one that signals your skin to start producing Collagen on its own.
That's why it addresses Skin Texture, Fine Lines, and Elasticity, but not significant sagging or volume loss."
— Dr. Wi Young-jin (Beautystone Clinic, Seoul)
Some patients tell me they completed all four sessions of Rejuran and still see the same degree of sagging.
That's often because the expected outcome was misunderstood from the start.
When the active ingredient is introduced and stimulates fibroblasts, the skin begins generating its own Collagen and elastin.
In other words, the effective range covers Dermis-level Skin Texture, Fine Lines, and hydration — not deep structural sagging.
Sagging caused by muscle or fat pad changes may be better addressed with procedures like Ultherapy or InMode.
That's exactly why, just last week, I recommended a Lifting consultation rather than a Skin booster for a 32-year-old patient who was concerned about lower face sagging around the mouth.
An Honest Session-by-Session Timeline
The depth of change you notice builds with each session.
Session | Expected Effect | What Patients Actually Notice |
Session 1 | Moisturizing, improved tone | "My skin might look a little brighter?" |
Session 2 | Smoother Skin Texture | "My skin feels different when I wash my face" |
Session 3 | Improvement in Fine Lines & Pores | "People around me are saying my skin looks better" |
Session 4 | Improved Elasticity & longer-lasting results | Complexion and Elasticity begin to stabilize |
Fewer than half of my patients feel satisfied after just one or two sessions.
Your skin cells need time to wake up — most people begin to notice a real difference by session three.
If You've Read This Far,
You're Probably Wondering...
Q1. Can I see results from just a single session?
You may notice improved hydration, but Collagen production won't accumulate from a single visit.
For fibroblasts to be meaningfully activated, your skin needs at least three sessions spaced three to four weeks apart — only then does it begin to "remember" the stimulus.
Q2. How long do the results last?
For patients who complete a full four-session course, results typically last an average of six to eight months.
After that, the effects gradually diminish at the natural pace of aging, so the smartest approach is a maintenance session every six months.
Q3. Are there any side effects like Bruising or marks?
Because needles are used, minor Bruising can persist for about a week.
Temporary nodules (small lumps) may also appear, but these typically resolve naturally within two to three weeks.
If the injection is too shallow, nodules are more likely; if it's too deep, results may be diminished. That's why the practitioner's skill in delivering the product at precisely the right depth matters greatly.
If there's one thing to take away from today — it's that a Skin booster doesn't fill your skin with Collagen; it awakens your skin's own ability to produce it, and it works best for concerns that live at the level of the Dermis.
In my next post, I'll break down the differences between Rejuran, Juvelook, and other Skin booster options.
