Rejuran Eye Is Not the Same as Regular Rejuran
Here's exactly why Rejuran Eye exists for under-eye fine lines — and what sets it apart from standard Rejuran

Rejuran Eye Is Not the Same as Regular Rejuran
As the air starts to dry out this time of year,
my clinic fills up with patients concerned about the eye area.
"I've tried switching eye creams, but nothing works —
and the fine lines just settle in deeper when I smile."
I hear this more often than you'd think.
Today, I'd like to walk you through exactly why that happens.

Rejuran vs. Rejuran Eye — They Look Similar, But There's One Critical Difference
Rejuran is a procedure that involves injecting PN (Polynucleotide),
extracted from salmon, directly into the skin
to stimulate regeneration in the Dermis.
Rejuran Eye is a formulation specifically designed
for the delicate skin around the eyes.
Unlike standard Rejuran,
Rejuran Eye has a lower PN concentration
and a thinner, more fluid viscosity.
The skin under the eyes is the thinnest on the entire body —
approximately 0.5mm thick —
which means using standard Rejuran (2%) in that area
can leave behind lumps that take a long time to resolve.
Why Rejuran Eye Is Specifically Designed for Fine Lines Around the Eyes
"Concerned about fine lines around the eyes? Here are 3 reasons why Rejuran Eye is purpose-built for exactly that."
— Dr. Wi Young-jin (Beautystone Clinic, Hongdae)
The Bottom Line
The skin around the eyes is thin, highly mobile,
and has visible underlying vessels.
Rejuran Eye was developed with all three of these factors in mind.
Last month, a patient in her early 40s came to see me.
She had received standard Rejuran under her eyes at another clinic,
and two weeks later, the lumps still hadn't resolved.
On palpation, I could feel that the PN had not dispersed properly
and had clumped together.
Because the under-eye skin is so thin,
this kind of issue can occur when a standard formulation is used in that area.

There are three key reasons why Rejuran Eye is purpose-built for this area.
First, the PN concentration is calibrated specifically for the eye area,
lower than that of standard Rejuran (2%).
Second, the lower viscosity allows for better spreadability
in thin, delicate skin.
Third, the injection depth is kept shallow —
targeting the upper Dermis at 0.3–0.5mm.
Standard Rejuran is typically injected at 1–2mm depth.
At that depth in the under-eye area,
the needle can approach the orbital septum,
which poses a real safety concern.

To be honest,
most patients who tell me "I tried Rejuran but didn't see much improvement around my eyes"
were actually given standard Rejuran in that area.
These are fundamentally different products — it's important to understand that distinction.
That said, Rejuran Eye isn't without its temporary effects.
Immediately after the procedure, small wheals appear at each injection point.
These typically subside within 2–4 hours,
though in more sensitive individuals, they may persist for about a day.
With consistent sessions, however,
you can expect improvement in both Fine Lines and the tone of dark circles —
which is why I continue to recommend it as a first-line option
for patients who are beginning to notice signs of aging around the eyes.
Dr. Wi Young-jin's Key Takeaway
The under-eye skin is only about 0.5mm thick.
Injecting standard Rejuran into that area can lead to lumps that linger.
Rejuran Eye is a formulation specifically tuned —
in concentration, viscosity, and injection depth — for the eye area.
Who Is Rejuran Eye Best Suited For?
In my clinic, I generally recommend it based on the following breakdown.

One common misconception I want to address:
a single session of Rejuran Eye will not smooth out deeply set wrinkles.
The primary goal is to improve Skin Texture and Elasticity.
For deeper wrinkles, combining it with Botox or Filler
is what delivers the most satisfying results.
The Three Questions I Get Asked Most in the Clinic
Q1. Can I wear makeup right after the procedure?
A. I don't recommend it on the day of the procedure.
The injection points need time to heal properly.
From the following day, you can resume your normal routine.
Q2. How many sessions do I need before I see results?
A. The standard course is 3 sessions, spaced 3–4 weeks apart.
Pricing is typically in the range of 200,000–250,000 KRW per session,
and many patients opt for a 3-session package.
Results vary by individual, but you can generally expect them to last around 6 months.
Q3. I Bruise easily — is that going to be a problem?
A. The eye area has a dense network of blood vessels,
so Bruising is a real possibility in this zone.
To be straightforward with you —
roughly 2 to 3 out of every 10 patients
will experience a small Bruise that lasts about a week.
If you have an important event coming up,
I'd recommend scheduling your procedure at least 2 weeks in advance.
My advice: have a thorough consultation before deciding to move forward.
