Pore Care 3 Months Before Your Wedding: Why the Order of Secret RF and Skin Peeling Changes Everything

A Bride-to-Be Came In 3 Months Before Her Wedding — Here's Why I Told Her to Skip the Peel First
Last Wednesday, a patient walked into my clinic —
a bride-to-be with exactly 12 weeks until her wedding day.
Her main concern was enlarged Pores on both cheeks,
and she had just come from a consultation at another clinic where they told her
to "start a 5-session Skin peeling package right away."
That's when I told her, "If you do that first,
your skin may become overly sensitized right before the wedding —
and that could be a real problem."
She was a little taken aback.
"Wait — isn't Skin peeling supposed to help with Pores?" she asked.
They May Seem Similar, But They Work on Completely Different Levels
Secret RF involves inserting ultra-fine needles
into the Dermis
and delivering Radiofrequency (RF) energy directly at the tip.
Think of it as physically tightening the underlying structure of the pore itself.
Skin peeling, on the other hand,
works by dissolving Keratin and sebum on the skin's surface —
essentially clearing and refining the opening of the pore.
It's more of a surface-level refinishing procedure.
So these two procedures aren't competing with each other —
they simply operate at different depths.
The real question is: "When, and in what order, should you do them?"
Why Do Some Brides Actually Look Worse on Their Wedding Day?
Secret RF vs. Skin Peeling
Which Should You Do First?
The answer: Secret RF first — Skin peeling comes later.
Reverse the order, and your skin may be overly sensitized by the time your wedding arrives.
Here's the reason.
Secret RF creates controlled micro-injuries in the Dermis,
and it typically takes 6 to 8 weeks
for Collagen to fully regenerate.
The needle depth is precisely adjusted from 0.5mm to 3.5mm
depending on the depth of your Pores.
This means that right after the procedure,
there's actually a phase where Pores may appear more prominent.
Patients who come in around the 2-week mark often say,
"Wait — did my Pores get bigger?"
But this is completely normal.
As Collagen builds back up, the Pores begin to tighten from the inside out.
So if you start with Skin peeling 3 months before your wedding,
your Keratin layer becomes thinner,
and as the big day approaches, your corrective options start to narrow.
It becomes difficult to layer on an invasive procedure like Secret RF
on already sensitized skin.
To be completely honest with you,
last year I had a bride-to-be who came in after doing things in the wrong order —
and she came back as an emergency visit 4 weeks before her wedding
with a cystic Acne flare-up.
Since then, I always lock in the order of procedures during the very first consultation.
Address the structural foundation of your Pores first with Secret RF,
then use Skin peeling as your finishing touch before the big day.
Follow this sequence, and your skin will be in its best possible condition
on your wedding day.
Here's How I Structure the Plan in My Clinic
Assuming you have 12 weeks (3 months) to work with,
this is the general plan I typically walk patients through.
It varies depending on each individual's skin,
but the overall framework looks like this.
That said, this plan isn't one-size-fits-all.
There's one important thing I always mention:
after Secret RF, you'll have small dot-like marks on the skin
that last about 2 to 3 days.
For patients who work full-time,
I generally recommend scheduling the procedure on a Friday evening.
That said, for anyone with significant Pore concerns,
this plan remains the most reliable approach.
However, if your primary concern is oiliness and shine rather than Pores,
I may redesign the plan using skin Botox
as an alternative to Secret RF.
The Three Questions I Get Asked Most in the Clinic
Q1. What if I only have 6 weeks left — is it too late?
A. Not at all.
However, we'd only have time for one session of Secret RF.
The typical compressed plan would be:
Secret RF at the 6-week mark,
followed by a gentle Skin peeling at the 2-week mark.
I have a patient right now who came in 7 weeks before her wedding —
and we're following exactly this plan.
Q2. How much does Secret RF cost, and how many sessions are needed?
A. It varies depending on the depth of your Pores,
but 2 to 3 sessions is generally the recommended range.
Rather than expecting results from a single session,
spacing sessions 4 to 6 weeks apart allows
proper Dermal remodeling to take place.
Pricing is provided after a skin assessment during your consultation.
Q3. What if I get a breakout 2 weeks before the wedding?
A. In that case, we do not add any further procedures.
We focus solely on Calming the skin —
with topical antibiotic ointment, oral medication,
or an Anti-Inflam injection if needed.
At that stage, the answer is to simplify, not add more.
That's exactly why I always tell patients:
"Please come in at least 3 months before your wedding."
KakaoTalk consultations are available before your visit.
