Still Seeing Large Pores After 3 Sessions of Secret RF? Read This If You're in Your Late 30s
Why Combining Secret RF with Skin Boosters Is the Answer When RF Alone Isn't Enough for Pores and Elasticity

Still Seeing Large Pores After 3 Sessions of Secret RF? Read This If You're in Your Late 30s
As we head into fall, I've been seeing a noticeable uptick in patients coming in saying,
"I had Secret RF done, but my pores didn't improve as much as I expected."
A lot of them ask, "I had it done three times at another clinic — why hasn't anything changed?"
Today, I want to walk you through exactly why that happens.
So What Makes This Procedure Different?
Secret RF uses ultra-fine insulated microneedles inserted into the skin
to deliver Radiofrequency (RF) thermal energy directly into the Dermis.
Unlike standard RF devices, Secret RF can precisely target depths between 1.0 and 3.5mm
without causing damage to the surface of the skin.
That's why it's so widely used for Pores, Elasticity, and Scar concerns.
So Why Do Some Patients See Less Results?
The Secret RF + Skin Booster combination
addresses both Pores and Elasticity simultaneously
through a paired protocol.
To be honest,
there are quite a few cases where Secret RF alone doesn't deliver full satisfaction.
Here's the nuance —
RF energy is incredibly effective at stimulating Collagen contraction and remodeling in the Dermis,
but it doesn't really reach
surface-level hydration or overall Skin Texture.
I remember a 37-year-old patient who came in last month —
she had already completed 3 sessions of Secret RF at another clinic.
She told me, "My Elasticity feels a little better, but my Pores and Skin Texture are exactly the same."
When I examined her skin directly, the dermal Lifting had clearly taken effect,
but the surface was dry and the Pore openings remained visibly enlarged.
So for this patient, I recommended
one additional Secret RF session at a 2mm setting,
followed two weeks later by a Skin Booster (Rejuran or Juvelook type)
administered into the epidermal-to-superficial dermal layer.
From the second combined session onward, her Pores started visibly refining.
But there's one important detail here.
Rather than injecting the Skin Booster immediately after RF,
you should wait for the micro-channels created by RF to partially heal —
roughly a 10–14 day interval —
so the active ingredients can properly settle into the right layer.
If Secret RF is the structural framework of a house,
then the Skin Booster is the wallpaper and finishing touches.
Building the frame and stopping there leaves the surface still looking bare.
That's why for anyone concerned about Pores,
I consistently recommend combining both.
Here's How I Approach It in My Practice
Every case is different,
but this is how I typically structure the plan.
That said, this approach isn't without its trade-offs.
Combination procedures naturally come with higher costs,
and the Downtime is somewhat longer than with a single procedure.
After RF, some redness can linger for 2–3 days,
and on the day the booster is administered, a subtle raised sensation may persist for about half a day.
However, for patients who are concerned about both Pores and Elasticity,
this combination remains the most practical choice available.
The Three Questions I Hear Most in the Clinic
Q1. Can I have Secret RF and a Skin Booster done on the same day?
A. Technically it's possible,
but it's not something I generally recommend.
Immediately after RF opens micro-channels in the skin,
the booster ingredients can spread into unintended layers.
Waiting at least 10 days — ideally 2 weeks — is the safer approach.
Q2. How many sessions does it take to see results?
A. Typically, 3 sessions of RF combined with 3 sessions of Skin Booster is considered one full set.
RF sessions are spaced 4 weeks apart, with booster sessions interspersed in between.
The total timeframe is approximately 3–4 months,
and results can last anywhere from 6 months to a year, depending on the individual.
Q3. What are the side effects or precautions to be aware of?
A. The most common reactions are temporary Erythema and minor Scab formation.
These typically subside within 3–5 days.
If you are prone to hyperpigmentation,
it's especially important to apply Sunscreen diligently for at least 2 weeks after the procedure.
Those who are pregnant or have a keloid-prone skin type
should avoid combination procedures.
