Frequently asked questions

How do fillers and collagen boosters differ?

With fillers such as JUVÉDERM and Restylane, the hyaluronic acid that is injected fills that spot right away, and it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase. Collagen boosters such as JUVELOOK Volume, SCULPTRA and OLIDIA lead the body to make collagen, so the area fills in over time. RADIESSE has both characters.

When does it start to change, and how many sessions?

Fillers show their shape from the day they are placed. With SCULPTRA, collagen forms gradually from a month after the treatment, and 3 sessions at intervals of 4 to 8 weeks are recommended; JUVELOOK Volume is done at intervals of at least 3 weeks. The number of sessions and how long it lasts are decided in consultation, based on your skin.

Does it hurt much?

It is an injection, so there is a stinging feeling. For JUVELOOK Volume we use local anesthesia if needed, and after SCULPTRA a heavy, achy feeling can continue for about 1 to 2 weeks. How much you feel it differs from person to person.

Is there anything to be careful about before and after?

Bruising or swelling can occur, so please tell us about important plans in advance. For a few days after the treatment, avoid saunas, alcohol and hard exercise, and with SCULPTRA we guide you to massage five times a day for five days to prevent nodules. If you have had filler placed before, please be sure to mention it at the consultation.
