Honestly, There Are Times I Turn Patients Away During Interview Season
If Your Interview Is 2 Weeks Away, a Chemical Peel Comes Before Secret RF

Honestly, There Are Times I Turn Patients Away During Interview Season
Let me get straight to the point.
Recommending Secret RF to someone whose job interview is just 2 weeks away
is, frankly, a bit irresponsible.
Let me explain why in this post.
Here's What Actually Makes the Difference
When it comes to pre-interview skincare,
the real question isn't "what procedure" — it's "when to do it."
Unlike general skincare, pre-interview prep has a fixed D-day,
which means you have to work backwards from that date
to choose the right procedure.
Even if two patients share the same concern — enlarged pores or breakouts —
my recommendation for someone with 2 months to go
is completely different from someone with only 2 weeks left.
This Is Where Most People Get It Wrong
"Why a Chemical Peel beats Secret RF when your interview is just 2 weeks away."
— Dr. Wi Young-jin (Beautystone Clinic, Hongdae)
Let me share a story about a patient who came in last month — a 28-year-old job seeker.
She had exactly 15 days until her final interview at a major corporation,
and she was concerned about noticeably enlarged pores on her cheeks.
Another clinic had recommended Secret RF.
But I started her on a Chemical Peel instead.
Here's why.
Secret RF uses microneedles that penetrate the Dermis
to a depth of 1.5–3.5mm,
delivering Radiofrequency (RF) energy into the skin.
The results are excellent,
but immediately after the procedure, tiny pinpoint bleeding marks appear,
and it typically takes 5–7 days for those to settle.
For Skin Texture to fully rebuild and smooth out, you're looking at around 3–4 weeks.
So with an interview in 2 weeks,
the timing couldn't be more awkward.
Your skin lands right in that in-between phase —
slightly red, looking dull, and foundation just won't sit right.
A salicylic acid or mandelic acid Chemical Peel, on the other hand,
dissolves the buildup of sebum at the Pores and along the Keratin layer,
with virtually no Downtime — Skin Texture looks noticeably smoother the very next day.
It won't eliminate deep Pores entirely.
But when it comes to clearing out the pore opening so they appear less visible,
this approach is far faster.
That patient completed two sessions of Chemical Peel
plus two sessions of LDM (low-intensity ultrasound) over 2 weeks,
and she went to her interview with foundation sitting beautifully on her skin.
We scheduled her Secret RF
for after the interview, while she waited for the results.
If your interview is 2 weeks away,
the right answer isn't a procedure that "transforms your skin" —
it's a procedure that "gets your skin looking its absolute best right now."
More intensive procedures can wait until after the interview. It's never too late.
Here's How I Break It Down in My Consultation Room
It varies by case, of course,
but I typically start by categorizing based on how much time is left.
That said, it's never a perfectly clear-cut formula.
For patients with naturally sensitive skin,
even if there are 30 days to go, I may skip Rejuran
and simply recommend a Chemical Peel.
First-time procedures can produce very different responses from person to person,
and my general principle is: don't take risks when something important is coming up.
The Three Questions I Hear Most Often in My Clinic
Q1. A breakout appeared the night before my interview. Can I get an injection?
A. A very conservatively dosed triamcinolone injection is an option.
However, some redness may linger for a few hours afterward,
so ideally, I'd recommend getting it done at least two days before, not the night before.
On the day itself, it's safer to simply cover it with concealer.
Q2. How much does a Chemical Peel cost, and how many sessions do I need to see results?
A. Pricing varies by type, but generally falls in the range of 70,000–150,000 KRW per session.
If you're prepping for an interview,
2 sessions spaced 2 weeks apart offers the best value.
Even a single session will refine your Skin Texture,
but to fully clear out what's inside the Pores, two sessions is the way to go.
Q3. Won't my skin look red after a Chemical Peel if I go to the interview right after?
A. It depends on the intensity of the Peel.
If your interview is 2–3 days away, I'll dial back the strength by one level
and incorporate PDRN or LDM to help with Calming.
Still, patients with thinner skin may experience a mild Heat sensation for about a day,
so leaving at least 5 days of buffer gives you peace of mind.
I always recommend having a thorough consultation before deciding on any procedure.
